How do Lip treatments work?

Dr. Giulia is a dentist will assess your teeth and your natural lip and carefully tailor your treatment to suit your face. A cosmetic medical consultation will take place, which will include photos of you. We will discuss your lips, and your desired lip appearance and prescribe treatment based on this. Some patients will require laser treatments to naturally plump the lips through collagen formation. Other will be prescribed treatment. Ultimately, Dr. Giulia will approach your treatment based on the best combination of techniques to achieve the right result for your lips after considered assessment.

Following your Lip treatment, you may experience temporary changes in the appearance that will settle after a few days. This will of course vary depending upon you and the treatment that you require.

In conjunction with Lip treatment, Dr. Giulia can also assess your jowls, lip corners and marionette lines to give you a balanced and natural outcome.

What happens during a lip treatment?

Step One - Consultation and Consent

It is important to understand that treatment will vary based on you and your needs. It is important that we start with a photograph session, and then a deep cosmetic medical consultation. These consultations can result in a prescribed treatment plan, using more than one type of treatment. This means that it is important that we know about you and your medical history, and what you would like to achieve as part of the lip treatment.. Additionally, the anatomy of the face is complex, it is advisable the you only allow cosmetic qualified practitioners, like Dr Giulia D'Anna, carry out treatments.

Step Two - The Treatment

Your treatment may take around 30 - 45 minutes. We will take photos of you. Then the first part of your treatment will be administering treatment to make you comfortable. Once you are settled, we will then proceed with treatment. We will give you instructions of after-care procedures and organise a review appointment.

Step Three - The Check-Up

It is always good practice for your practitioner to offer a follow up visit, and we usually schedule this for one week after your initial lip treatment. This allows Dr Giulia to check that the treatment is sitting nicely, and that we have reached our desired outcome. On occasion, we may require additional to achieve your best lip outcome.

Step Four - The Repeat Treatment

Depending on your results, and you, lip treatment may be required in the future. Some patients will require a repeat treatment 6-24 months after your initial treatment. Your practitioner will advise regarding when you may require a repeat treatment.

What are the different parts of the lip called?

Lips are complex. There are the lips themselves, but also the skin and surrounding structures. When we are designing treatment for your desired outcomes, we will assess the entire lower part of your face to ensure that lip treatments look natural, and give you results that you need and desire.
