..Capillary Treatment
..for visible blood vessels

Broken capillaries are unsightly and hard to cover with makeup. We have two perfect solutions for this problem. At Dermal Distinction, we use the Vasculyse system or laser.

Your therapist will determine which is the best treatment for you based on the size of the vessel, the area being treated and your skin type.

Broken capillaries are unsightly and hard to cover with makeup. We have two perfect solutions for this problem. At Dermal Distinction, we use the Vasculyse system or laser.

Broken capillaries, otherwise known as Spider veins, occur when very small blood capillary vessels are permanently overfilled with blood due to weak blood vessel walls. The condition develops as we age. Extreme cold weather and UV exposure make the condition worse. Common areas are the face, décolletage and legs.

Laser NdYag

During laser treatment, light pulses are sent into the veins, which impede their blood flow and eventually destroys them. Laser is exceptional at being able to target and seal capillaries, as well as other skin blemishes. The treatment is very precise and many capillaries can be treated in a small period of time. Typically your nose or facial capillaries take only 15 minutes. Other areas that are commonly treated are the legs, but can be used on any part of the body. $129 for 15 minutes, $189 for 30 minutes

Vasculyse

VascuLyse uses mild RadioFrequency (RF) to generate targeted ‘heat energy’ to capillary vessels, effectively eliminating skin blemishes without damaging the skin. It is fast, relatively painless and produces immediate results for many skin blemishes. Most skin conditions can be successfully and permanently treated in 1-3 treatments without any risk of lesion to the skin itself. This is most effective on the face. $129 (15 mins)

..Rosacea
..for flushed skin

Rosacea is a common chronic relapsing inflammatory skin condition which mostly affects the central face, with women being more affected than men. The cause is not completely understood, but some gut health and immune system factors have been found.

Skincare
Sun avoidance and wearing sunscreen are an important part of management. Skin care should include a gentle facial cleanser, such as PCA creamy cleanser or Aspect Dr mild Clean, serums such as Aspect Dr Redless and Cosmedix reduce to help repair the skin barrier concerns, and finally a moisturiser or barrier repair product such as Aspect Dr Resveratrol or Aspect SMC. Cosmetic products, especially those with a green tinge, may help to cover redness. Taking chlorophyll supplements can also assist.

Avoiding triggers
Avoiding triggers such as extreme temperatures (hot or cold), ultraviolet radiation exposure, spicy foods, hot or alcoholic beverages, wind, exercise and stress, should be recommended to all patients.

Treatment Options
Treatment is based on reducing symptoms and helping to control the rosacea, as there is no traditional cure. Treatments such as laser and venus viva help to target the capillaries that flare up, and also help to improve collagen levels which support the skin. Our dermal therapists will guide you on the best treatment options for you.
