We believe the best aesthetic care begins with understanding the person — not simply choosing a treatment.

Dermal Distinction was created with a simple philosophy: aesthetic and skin care should feel considered, personal and clinically grounded.

Rather than starting with a treatment, we start with a conversation. We take time to understand your concerns, assess your skin and facial features, and consider what you would genuinely like to achieve.

From there, we develop an individual plan. Sometimes that may involve treatment. Sometimes it may mean improving skin health first, taking a staged approach, or deciding that no treatment is needed at all.

Our aim is not to create a different version of you. It is to provide thoughtful guidance and care that respects your features, your skin and your individual priorities.

Dr Giulia D’Anna

Dr Giulia D’Anna graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1996 and has spent her career combining clinical practice with a strong interest in facial anatomy, skin health and aesthetic medicine.

Her approach at Dermal Distinction centres on careful assessment, personalised treatment planning and maintaining facial characteristics rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach.

Giulia’s interest in facial aesthetics developed alongside her work in dentistry, where an understanding of facial proportions, anatomy, function and the relationship between the smile and surrounding facial structures formed part of everyday clinical assessment.

Further study in head and neck anatomy, dermal therapy and aesthetic medicine has shaped the approach used at Dermal Distinction today: assess carefully, understand the anatomy, consider the whole face and only then discuss treatment.

Giulia also has a strong interest in practitioner education. Teaching facial anatomy, consultation, treatment planning and complication prevention has reinforced the importance of applying the same detailed clinical thinking to every patient consultation.
